Seating and Comfort

There is seating for six or seven people, depending on what seating configuration you choose. You can opt for the available third-row seating with PowerFold® capability, so the seats fold down with the touch of a button.

The Explorer starts with cloth seating surfaces. However, as you go up in trim levels, you can opt for available leather-trimmed seating surfaces or Tri-Diamond perforated leather seating surfaces with accent stitching. For winter months, enjoy the available heated first-row and second-row seating.

The first-row seating has the option of true luxury, with available Multicontour seats with Active Motion® that offer five massage functions focusing on different back areas. These seats are also designed to prevent fatigue, if you've got a long drive ahead.

Dimensions and Cargo Space

The Ford Explorer has plenty of space for everyone as well as any cargo you need. The Explorer's maximum cargo space is 87.8 cubic feet. With all seats occupied, you still have 18.2 cubic feet to work with.

The legroom offered in all three rows of the Explorer is enough space for even tall passengers. The first row offers 43 inches of legroom, the second row with 39 inches, and the third row with 32.2 inches.

If you're on a road trip, you want plenty of room to spread out. The shoulder room in the Explorer lets you do that. The first row offers 61.8 inches of shoulder room, the middle gives passengers 61.9 inches, and the rear seat has 54.6 inches.

The hip room in the Explorer is similarly impressive. The first row of the Explorer boasts 59.2 inches of hip room, the second with 59.1 inches, and the third with 40.9 inches.

Technology

The Ford Explorer has plenty of tech to make your ride more enjoyable. These features include the available SYNC® with a voice-activated touchscreen navigation system. The touchscreen even grows to a whopping 10.1 inches! You can hook up your phone to listen to your favorite music, get directions, and more.

Don't like dealing with cords to charge your phone? Opt for the available wireless charging pad. All you have to do is put your phone down and let it charge while you drive!

To give you more control over your driving experience, the Explorer offers a 12.3-inch customizable instrument panel. You can configure the look of the panel and pick what driving information you see.
