2023 Ford Explorer Hybrid Review

Ford Escape Hybrids

The Escape is an excellent commuter vehicle with room for five and plenty of cargo space for your next road trip. The Ford Escape offers the most hybrid options, with plug-in and non-plug-in options for almost every trim level.

The non-plug-in hybrid engine in the Escape is a 2.5L engine with a total of 200 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. It earns an EPA-estimated 44 city/ 37 highway MPG with front-wheel drive.

The plug-in hybrid engine offers the benefit of charging at home with the fuel option of gas when you need it. The 2.5L plug-in engine delivers 221 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. It has an EPA-estimated 105 combined MPGe.

Ford Explorer Hybrid

The Ford Explorer has three engines to choose from, including one hybrid engine. This is the second-most powerful engine of the Explorer lineup, with 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque. You can even tow up to 5,000 pounds with the hybrid engine!

The Explorer has room for up to seven people, making it an excellent option for large families looking to go green. To help keep you and your family safe, the Explorer also has plenty of driver-assist features, including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which can also help save a bit of gas on the highways.

Ford Maverick Hybrid

The Ford Maverick may be right for you if you're looking for a midsized truck. It has a standard full hybrid engine. The 2.5L FHEV engine earns an EPA-estimated 42 city/ 33 highway MPG when equipped with front-wheel drive. When it's properly equipped, you'll also get 191 combined horsepower and a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.

The Ford Maverick is also prepared for fun. There are six tie-downs throughout the truck bed so you can secure bikes or other adventuring gear.

It also offers five drive modes, which allow you to customize your drive, including an Eco mode to get the best fuel economy you can from your truck.

Ford F-150 Hybrid

The Ford F-150 has one hybrid engine that's prepared to get the job done. The available 3.5L PowerBoost^™ Full Hybrid V6 engine delivers an impressive 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque-in terms of torque, it's the most powerful engine the F-150 offers.

The Ford F-150 has its own selectable drive modes, including an ECO mode to get the best fuel efficiency from the truck. Other modes, such as Slippery and Trail modes, help you explore off the beaten path.
