When you're choosing an SUV, tough and spacious are qualities that many people look for today. Two SUVs that meet those criteria are the Ford Explorer and Ford Edge. Like all Ford vehicles, both are Ford Tough™ for drivers around New Holland, Lancaster, and Reading, Pennsylvania.

New Holland Ford is here to show you some of what makes these SUVs great and how they're different so you can choose which one is best for you.

Performance and Power

Both the Edge and the Explorer offer more than 200 horsepower with every engine option.

The Explorer offers four engines to choose from, including one hybrid engine. For the most power you can get out of the SUV, the available 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 is the one to go with having 400 horsepower.

The Edge has two engines to choose from. The most powerful engine is the 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 twin-turbocharged engine with 335 horsepower.

Both vehicles also offer available AWD or standard front-wheel drive for the Edge and rear-wheel drive for the Explorer.

Interior Dimensions and Cargo Space

When you're choosing an SUV, space is an essential factor. You'll find both the Explorer and the Edge have plenty of it. The Explorer boasts 87.8 cubic feet of cargo space, and the Edge has 73.4 cubic feet.

The Explorer seats seven people, so it's great for large families. With three rows of seating, there's plenty of legroom in each one. The first row has 43 inches, the second offers 39 inches, and the third has 32.2 inches of legroom.

No one will feel piled on top of each other either with the Explorer's 59.2 inches of hip room in the front, 59.1 inches in the second row, and 40.9 inches in the third.

The Edge seats five people. The legroom in the first row comes to 42.6 inches, while the second has 40.6 inches. The hip room is just as impressive, with 55.9 inches in the front and 57.5 inches in the back.
