The Ford F-150 has no shortage of engines to choose from. With six available powertrains, there's something for everyone. Each one is designed to help you power through the elements, haul some heavy cargo, and get up and over everything that stands in your way.The base powertrain is a 3.3L V6 that features Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT). It uses this smart design to efficiently get up to 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The other Ti-VCT powertrain that's available is a 5.0L V8 that offers up to 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. 

There's also a pair of exciting of EcoBoost® engines. The first one is a 2.7L EcoBoost® that gets up to 325 horsepower and 400 horsepower. The other option is a 3.5L EcoBoost® that produces up to 400 horsepower and a whopping 500 lb-ft of torque. 

The F-150 also offers something for diesel lovers. The 3.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel powertrain features a sporty 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. If you're really interested in an efficient truck though, you'll be drawn to the 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6. Not only does it offer hybrid fuel economy, but it can accelerate quickly with up to 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. 

Payload Capabilities

Of course, you can also count on the powerful F-150 to carry lots of heavy gear in the truck bed. In fact, it can handle a best-in-class payload of 3,325 pounds. To get all that cargo up in the truck bed, you can add amenities like a bed step or stowable loading ramps. Once you're all packed up, your can secure everything with cargo tie-downs.
